Dr. Chaudhary is Professor of Surgery and Chief of Ophthalmology at McMaster University. He is an Associate Member at McMaster School of Biomedical Engineering and McMaster Department of Health Research Methods, Evidence & Impact.  

He is passionate about translational research and evidence generation & synthesis in retina. He serves on multiple clinical and medical advisory boards and global steering committees for retina endeavors spanning from basic science research to multi-national clinical trials in the field of retina. He is very interested in knowledge translation and serves as past CPD Director for the Canadian Retina Society and CPD council member for the Canadian Ophthalmological Society. He was appointed Editor-in-Chief for the Canadian Journal of Ophthalmology in 2018. He was also appointed Section Editor for Medical Retina for Eye in 2021.  He has been awarded multiple Education, Achievement and Research Awards along with the Honor and Senior Honor Award by the American Society of Retinal Specialists and the Award for Excellence in Ophthalmic Research by the Canadian Ophthalmological Society.
