Sebastian Wolf is professor of ophthalmology, director and chair of the Department of Ophthalmology, Inselspital, University of Bern, Switzerland. He received a PhD for biotechnical engineering from RWTH Aachen, Germany, where he subsequently attended medical school. His main areas of scientific interest are age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal vein occlusion, imaging and vitreoretinal surgery.
Professor Wolf has authored over 170 publications in peer-reviewed journals, including Ophthalmology, Archives of Ophthalmology, American Journal of Ophthalmology, Investigative Ophthalmology & Visual Science (IOVS), Diabetes Care, and Hypertension. He serves on the editorial board of various scientific journals including IOVS, Ophthalmologica, European Journal of Ophthalmology, and Graefes Archives. As well as being a speaker at numerous national and international meetings, he has been appointed as an ARVO Gold Fellow and elected General Secretary of EURETINA.
