Lucia Lee Ferraro is a macula specialist working in Barcelona at the Institut de la Mácula i de la Retina, at the Fundacio Sant Joan de Deu Martorell and, as a researcher, at the Barcelona Macula Foundation.  Within the group of Dr. Jordi Monés, she has been involved in several studies on age-related macular degeneration and is partnering in regional and European Commission-funded projects on AMD genetics, retinal imaging and advanced therapies.

Dr. Ferraro graduated in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Palermo, Italy, where she also completed her Ophthalmology residency program.  In 2012 she moved to Barcelona for a fellowship in medical and surgical retina at the Hospital de la Santa Creu y de Sant Pau.  In 2016 she obtained the European Board of Ophthalmology Diploma the related title of Fellow of the European Board of Ophthalmology (FEBO).
