Andrii Korol is Head of Department of Research for the Biological Action and Application of Laser in Ophthalmology at the SI “The Filatov Institute of Eye Diseases and Tissue Therapy of NAMS of Ukraine”, Odesa, Ukraine.

He earned his CandMedSc and DMedSc degrees at the SI “The Filatov Institute of Eye Diseases and Tissue Therapy of NAMS of Ukraine”, Odesa, Ukraine.

His main areas of interest are diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, vascular tumors of the retina, retinal vein occlusion, imaging as well as research in the field of artificial intelligence and photodynamic therapy. For the last 15 years he has been involved in research of red and infrared transillumination for imaging of the eye, research of heat exchange in the human eye and heat flux of the eye. He is involved in clinical studies and is currently an investigator in international, multicenter clinical trials on anti-antiangiogenic and glaucoma therapies.
